08/23 KOFC Update

Good morning all, and happy Sunday!

Just a few reminders and updates on things pertaining to our council!

• I have placed an order through Knights Online for council supplies. Included items are:

  • Various prayer cards, including McGivney ones for our meetings

  • Candidate packs and certificates for new members

  • Various kits to align with liturgical events for our parish

  • Posters and promotionals to be displayed and used during recruitment drives, and to hopefully catch the attention of fathers in our parish

• Our ASAP Baby Shower event will be during the social hour of our meeting next month, which is TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH, AT 6PM (18:00 if you want to be fancy). Please bring items relating to newborns, such as onesies, diapers, wipes, etc. Cold hard cash would also be appreciated in lieu of items. We will be providing a cake, and Brother Ralph will be ordering food. A speaker from OPTIONS will be giving us a brief run-down of their operations, and how we've helped them, and what else we can do for them long-term.

• Our next 4th Degree Meeting will be hosted by the wonderful Lake Ariel Council #7403. It will be at Elegante, in Honesdale PA, on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24TH, AT 6:00PM. I have already made reservations. Food Cost is $28 per person. A 50/50 will be held to benefit the assembly. Tickets will be 1 FOR $2 OR 3 FOR $5. I will also have some sort of door prizes. Anyone interested in attending should confirm by no later than THURSDAY, SEMPTEMBER 17th. Or Else.

• There will be a 4th Degree Exemplification @ St. Anne's Basilica in Scranton, PA. The Event usually starts around 1:00pm (yes, I'm well aware I should have better times for these sorts of things). Also, and potentially unbeknownst to him, Dan B. has registered our very own Father Bosomafi for the 4th Degree.  Please come out and support your Brother Knights if possible! 

• I am going back and forth with other councils currently, and it seems that the Field Day With Jesus event WILL take place, on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27TH, from 1:00-3:00PM inside or around the STM Parish Hall, weather depending. Other councils will be attending, and helping with the cooking etc. I will be gathering and disseminating more information about this as it arises.

• The BE A CATHOLIC MAN conference will be held OCTOBER 10TH 8:00am-3:00pm @ Holy Redeemer High School in Wilkes-Barre PA. Below is an attached flyer with more information about the speakers. This is not a KOFC event, but the chairman of the group would like KOFC councils to spread the word about it more. I am merely just following orders.

• We will be having a recruitment drive sometime in October, during the weekend mass(es) at STM and St. Mary's. Anyone wishing to get up in front of several hundred people and speak should contact myself before then.
